The Mechanism

Approach

Formed in New York City in 2001, The Mechanism is a collaborative technical and creative digital agency, focused on calibrating your vision and introducing you to the widest range of achievable brand possibilities.

A world-class, digitally-focused branding agency brings expertise, curiosity and the ability to collaborate with any team that is brought to the table.Dave Fletcher

A successful interactive experience occurs when a brand is articulated visually, with textuality, and transcends functionality. Good interfaces delight as well as guide the audience through an experience. The way a brand is experienced in the digital world should be woven seamlessly into the overall brand experience. The meaning of “Digital” – including social media and a full array of devices and platforms – plays a different role depending on the brand.

Digital Expertise / Analog Touch

Digital prowess is dependent on a human or “analog” touch. It's probably because our founder believes that people, along with research, creativity and rigorous testing - make projects successful. Every project has a ripple effect that effects our clients staff, and the audience that interacts with the brand. Our client’s success is our success. It’s not the other way around, it’s never been the other way around.

Collaborative

The ability and willingness to profoundly collaborate with client teams produces better results. Working together at every step throughout a project lifespan creates project advocacy within our client's teams and within The Mechanism. When the entire combined team wants a project to succeed, it blossoms into a magnificent, authentically branded experience, which profoundly benefits the client's audience.

That's the fun stuff. That's the “mustard”...

Building new sites… with some old data

May 11, 2012

When building a new site for a client, migrating data from an old site or system can be a daunting task. There are several excellent modules such as feeds_import which can help move data that is already online in one form or another via rss/xml and so on. Sometimes there is content which needs to [...]

The Motherly Mechanism

A little bonus Sketching Mechanism for you all out there as an homage to Mother’s Day this weekend. I made this watercolor card for my grandmother and thought I’d share it with you all (after Photoshopping her name out!). Print the inside and outside images in this zip at full size, one per sheet (standard [...]
